Biography
The record
The canonical version — what I have built, sold, and am running now. This is the page everything else points back to.
Lawrence Tepperman is the CEO of Berkeley Payments, a North American fintech-as-a-service platform for branded payment programs, and the founder of GrowthMatters, which helps Israeli B2B companies build a working U.S. go-to-market motion. He founded and exited two companies at nine figures — K2 Digital and 80/20 Solutions — raised more than $100M across ventures, and has spent 25 years selling into the United States. He is also the founder of Isratech Capital Partners, which backs growth-stage technology companies expanding into North America. Canadian-born, he made Aliyah in 2022 and lives in Israel, working North American hours.
Now
Berkeley Payments — Chief Executive Officer
A North American fintech-as-a-service platform powering branded payment programs: prepaid and virtual cards, real-time disbursements, and embedded money movement across the United States and Canada. Berkeley operates as infrastructure — clients' brands sit on top while the banking, compliance and technical machinery stays out of view. Named by Forbes in 2023 as “The Best-Kept Secret in the $245 Billion Fintech Sector.” This is where most of my time and focus lives.
GrowthMatters — Founder
Helps Israeli B2B companies build a U.S. go-to-market motion that repeats. B2B only — not government, not consumer. Two or three companies at a time, deliberately, because I am in the weekly meeting myself. The argument behind it is here, and the offer is at growthmatters.co.il.
Isratech Capital Partners — Founder & Board Member
Backs and accelerates growth-stage technology companies expanding into North American markets. It also means I see the U.S.-entry problem from the investor's side of the table — including how a board reads a company that raised on a U.S. plan and has not yet delivered one.
Before
K2 Digital — Founder & CEO, exited
Founded and scaled from scratch to $30M in annual revenue and more than 100 employees, then sold. Built largely on U.S. and cross-border demand — which is where I learned that the American market is not a single market, and that the cost of learning that late is measured in years rather than dollars.
80/20 Solutions — President & CEO, exited
Taken from six employees to a private-equity exit. A second full cycle: find the wedge, build the motion, prove it repeats, and sell to a buyer who underwrites the repeatability rather than the story.
